The College of Islamic Propagation was established in 1974 AD under Law No. 78 dated 2/11/1974 AD. It is an Islamic institution affiliated with the World Islamic Propagation Society. Its headquarters are in Tripoli, Libya, and it has five branches in countries in the continents of Asia, Africa, and Europe, namely: (Lebanon, Benin, Senegal, Chad, and Britain. It had an important branch in Syria that was closed after the Syrian revolution, and a branch in Pakistan that was closed at the end of the last century).
The college has taken upon itself the task of spreading Islamic culture, uncovering the treasures of Islamic civilization, and conducting research and studies in the Arabic language, Islamic and educational studies. Its Islamic curricula rely on seeking the truth as stated in the Qur’an and Sunnah, and moderation and balance in advocacy and education, far from extremism and fanaticism. This has clearly appeared in the culture of its students and their moderate behavior after graduation, and has been reflected in their good relations with official bodies in their countries and other countries, leading to their appointment to important official positions in the fatwa houses and universities of the countries from which they came.
The college continues its educational and pedagogical journey after the glorious February 17 Revolution, adopting a new strategic vision and mission.
The college awards a BA in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, and a BA in scientific departments. These degrees are recognized by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in Libya, local universities, and parallel colleges and universities such as the University of Ez-Zitouna in Tunisia, Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the University of Aster in Britain, and universities in Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, Sudan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Senegal, Niger, and Guinea Conakry.
Some of its graduates receive scholarships to continue their postgraduate studies at universities in Europe, Canada and America.
The college and its branches are attended by approximately (3000) male and female students from different countries of the world. The number of graduates until 2016 AD reached (7744) male and female students belonging to (96) nationalities.
